Our group had three members which made the flow of the meeting
go smoothly and effectively. However, since we do not know the topic of the
meeting previously, we had to struggle with the brainstorming part. My role on
the meeting was the chairman whose responsibility was to ensure the
effectiveness of the meeting at the assigned time frame. In addition, I had to
make sure that each member contributes to the meeting. I stressed the
importance of keeping the discussion focused on what was agreed in the agenda.
On the other hand, there were some differences and similarities between the
practice meeting and the graded one. The differences were in the psychological aspects
towards the perception of the meetings. The level of stress in the practice
meeting was way less compared to the graded one. Not knowing the topic ahead is
another significant difference. However, the practice meeting provided an
essential stimulation which made us familiar with the atmosphere of the graded
meeting. In the future, I will consider, as a manager, focusing on the agenda
is a priority. Many meetings are deemed to be wasted because of the unsuitable
points in the agenda. Finally, I will ensure that the point discussed to be
implemented.
